So Major....you really believe that GJ and/or the board of GBG broke every rule in the ASX handbook by telling a broker,(not even their "house" broker at that) details of a significant transaction such as the one just announced, BEFORE releasing the details to the market? I hardly think so!
As regards the deal, it's not the deal I would have wanted 6 months ago, however, with credit markets unlikely to get back to where they were even in 12 months time, it was the only realistic option open to them. GJ is a significant holder of GBG in his own right and it must have been galling to him to accept the level of dilution under the deal. If he has agreed to the deal, it's only because he realises full well the futility of enforcing the previously agreed option with Angang. Speculation on the opening price on Monday is a waste of time unless you're just a trader. You can bet your life it will trade well below the 85c issue price but who cares? If Angang think it's worth buying up to 85c, that's good enough for me.
