It would be interesting to understand just how many surveying companies out there have undertaken their part in the race to the bottom with Veris. It is a shame that Veris appear to have adopted price point as their main point of competitive advantage, because from all accounts the companies that they purchased all appeared to be pretty well regarded in the industry and therefore Veris could have sustained competitive but not rock bottom fees.

If they had some vision of national monopoly and thought that destroying the perceived value of survey charge out rates would in turn push a lot of competitors to the wall and then veris would be there to sweep up the pieces and be the dominant provider of survey within Australia then they have failed dismally. Veris is the one suffering and if other companies out there are charging in line with what @jamesworrell has suggested and it is indeed $170 - $190 per hour and they are securing that in the market then Veris needs to take a long hard look in the mirror and push their rates up. Even a $25 per hour increase in their rates would have a significant impact on their bottom line.... Their revenue may drop but at least they would be profitable.
