Three things IMO:
1) Conservative management
2) Unknown, potentially complex geology
3) Trigonometry. By the time you get to the depth you expect to intersect the mineralisation, you are 25m away from what is known.

This is spelled out in the announcment for you...



At this early stage, these guys have only been comfortable with incremental step-outs. Once they get an understanding of the controls on mineralsation I would think you might see some greater separation between holes. I believe their next holes will test the down-dip extensions towards the east on sections 6,598,580N and 6,598,540N....see below.





Lastly, 25m spaced holes is probably what they will need down the track for a Measured Resource classification...so it's definintely not a waste.
