I reckon Crypto has a good chance of replacing paper money eventually. That’s what financial institutions ultimately want aka a completely digital financial transaction world so they get a margin on every transaction.
Humans will always want physical (and it’s gold) to back wealth and hold in hand when digital fails (it’s just electrons). Gold will always be the physical for three reasons; not much of it, never corrodes and useful industrial.
In the transition from paper to digital gold will just keep rising.
