To expand my comments on our wind resource, and what that means short-term for our solar and wind expansions. Wind speeds above 6 are considered “high”; we’re at least 8.4 m/s. The feasibility study will likely increase this but the below map, partly based on mesoscale modelling, gives an idea as to the value of wind approvals in the region (green = high score).
We've recently seen a return of evening peak pricing, while the previous morning peak remains subdued. I'm not yet at the point where I'm comfortable talking strategic port selection, potential c&i customers, optimised transport routes or turbine opportunities - but if we get this transmission line confirmed via K2H then K2W is certain to cement our position within the North Queensland Clean Energy Hub.
