Not everyone manages their investment affairs the same.
Some are fully invested; some are not.
Those that are not fully invested forego profits when the market goes up, but they have capital available to invest in capital raisings.
Those that are fully invested might not have spare capital to invest in capital raising but they profit to the maximum when the market goes up.
Besides, nothing stops people from being informed and from having access to capital.
I didn't have access to capital a few months ago, but I raised capital by selling shares that I believed were inferior investment returns compared to those on offer by participating in SPPs. I am 100% certain that I was not alone in employing this simple strategy.
