Jazz, whilst I can read your point, you have to credit Centro's business operations. They are making money!
Yes they were gluttons when finance was "free". And yes they are over geared in the current economic climate.
What they need is to roll over the loans, sell off assets and pay down the gearing or be finance injected by someone to reduce the loans.
Then they can keep on making $570 MILLION a year and pay the loan repayments as they have done all along. They are not in default of an interest payment.
Commbank, if they disagree with refinancing will be doing so to their own detriment in my opinion. Not only is it an illogical action but possibly and irresponsible one on behalf of their shareholders.
