Which surprises me a little bit is the evaluation of some simple lateral flow test devices.
Are these small plastic things a milestone in lateral flow testing?
Certainly not! - Maybe a bit.

The core of these units are the test itself.
I don't like to compare 10 grams of plastic with a high quality test (test stripe)
The test decides how well or badly the whole system works, not the few grams of plastic.

Let's say 30% device (plastic for $2) and 70% the test itself.

So it's difficult for me to understand the hype around Atomo for example and many others.
At the moment they are producer of small - maybe clever - plastic parts, not more.

A nearly perfect test for such devices - without laboratory evaluations - makes the value here.
So I see much more value at the test-developer as by the manufactures of a plastic casing (more and less intelligent)
