It's unfortunate that people confuse a convergence of events with causation.
Also that some people think that all vaccines are live, whereas most are not.
I had some hippie friends who were anti vaxxers. Absolutely vehement.... I gave up trying to engage with them on it.
Then their daughter got a form of meningitis which would have been covered by a vaccine they hadn't given her.
She nearly died in intensive care. They reversed their views, but it was a very hard way to learn. Now in the internet age there's been a proliferation of nonsense. Very little oversight. People don't realise it's not just about them and their children (as if children are property anyway). It's about the resilience of the entire community. Given enough outliers, diseases that could have been eradicated, remain in circulation.
