It was where I ended up after thinking about the fear or adrenal response that seems to be involved in so many of the police arrests. Some of the behaviour seems such an overreaction to the situation that the switching off of the analytical part of the brain that comes with an adrenal response (fight flight) is the only explanation I can think of. That led to me thinking about the number of videos I had seen where it was obvious that although that adrenal response was clearly present in the black men they were trying to arrest they had also clearly actively controlled that response so they did not respond in kind.

in other words they had actively overridden what we call the limbic brain (others call it reptilian but it’s because it is the most basic primitive but life saving part of the brain). Clearly for tte black men a fight flight response is going to get them into more trouble so they call on the more advanced parts of their brain

so that is all I was doing.
