The mineralisation they saw is quartze-carbonate veins containing minerals know to be associated with gold, particularly Pyrite (aka fools gold). Associated means gold has been found in these type of veins in the area. These veins can been seen by the naked eye and are confirmed on the drill-rig by the geologist. Gold, however, is not visible with the naked eye. Further, just because the quart-carbonate mineralisation is there, does not mean gold is there. It only means it might be there. We need assays to figure out if there is gold there and how much gold is there.

Now, due to the success of nearby projects and geometries of the geologic structures in the area, it's safe to assume the odds of gold being present in the veins is fairly high. Let's all hope for the best, but lets also not count our chickens before they hatch.
