I really appreciated the announcement today, exactly what i was looking for. There was a previous thread in May 2020 about collating insights into Archer. I was trawling announcements with the hope of cobbling together a contribution about a road-map re the 12CQ chip and the biosensor. However, I couldn’t find all the pieces of the puzzle. I ended up emailing Archer to see what they could share re a road-map of key milestones. The announcement was definitely not a reply to me but it hit the nail on the head. As others have mentioned, some great nuggets in it which gave me increased confidence about next steps and the near term plan.
I did notice (page 10) a reference to another facet of the IBM agreement. The previous announcement said that ‘part’ of the agreement was joining the Q network, access to IBM staff and other Q computers (left me wondering about other part(s) of the IBM agreement). On page 10 it mentions that part of the agreement is to use IBM Qiskit as the software for the 12CQ chip. Not earth shattering but to me seems more indicative of the hardware concept showing promise.
The para above that gives a reference to an article about the science which enables the room temperature bit. No chance that they’d spill all their juicy secrets but I thought I’d have a read any way. Went straight over my head. Me and my crayons managed to deduce that if the photon-combobulator spins next to the flux capacitor we will all be rich :/
