A thought percolated through my mind and popped out into my conscious brain in the middle of last night that I want to share and elicit feedback. That is, former athletes may report greater WOMAC score reduction than the general population. This is because they used to perform their sports to a high degree of proficiency, and thus notice more than the general population an improvement in their OA. I reckon the 10 NFL players will report a greater than 50% reduction in WOMAC pain and a higher GCIC than the general clinical trial population who take PPS and are less sporty. Maybe this was already borne out in the AFL players and is the reason why the US EAP was sought.
