Subject to regulatory approvals, NOXCOVID-1 will be conducted in Ukraine and Moldova, where there is a rising number of COVID-19 cases and deaths as the pandemic moves eastward across Europe. Three hospitals in Ukraine and three in Moldova have been identified and their respective intensive care specialists have indicated strong interest in participating. (my emphasis)

Is it little wonder that Ukraine ICU specialists are interested. Directly north lies Belarus. With a similar population to Ukraine, yet Belarus has experienced around seven times more per million, the number of COVID-19 cases. Also situated along the length its eastern border lies Russia - and as we know, it has by far the most number of cases in Europe.

Moldova lying adjacent to the south of Ukraine, must also be concerned about the domino type effect that could easily unfold in the near future.
