I was struck while reading your latest post that you refer to the model as a model for political decline.

Coupled with both your and Zanzibar's recent application of the cycle to Organisations (GM and Lehman Brothers) has caused me to wonder whether Political Decline Model is too limiting.

Perhaps it is more a model for Organisational Decline.

Politics is just a member of the Organisation set.

Course it might be a more Mass Human/Mass Human organisation model

Have you considered the phrase "Three score years and 10"
