I can remember John Howard once saying it is easy to say something negative about a person, but it is alot harder to say something good about them. Your posts seem to be negatively biased in the same context as the above statement. Your message says it all... "could fail". I don't think anyone has purchased this stock without being aware of the risks involved with any speculative stock, and in this current economic environment there will be further company failures.
I also don't think anyone is suggesting the current commodity prices are favourable to any stock, irrespective of that stock being blue chip or speculative.
Do you realise the article you posted is 4 days old. There are also current articles (today) relating to BHP's joint venture mines in South America cutting production as a result of drop in demand.
Any reason why you have not posted this article in conjunction with the one you have posted, and given a valued judgement relative to the future price of iron ore, and not to news relative to the day its publication?
Long term investors in this company believe there will be a turn around in commodities and AGO with its cashflow can ride out the economic storm.
There is also one analyst out there saying this stock will be $4.00 in 12 months time. Personally I think that is a bit optimistic, but I could be wrong, just like you could be!
Just to add a positive spin about the article you posted. It mentions the 10 billion expansion. There is current talk about BHP's takeover may be unwise due to RIO's debt levels. If that is the case and the takeover does not go ahead , it could be argued the expansion may be delayed until market conditions improve. Am I correct in what I say, I wouldn't have the faintest idea! But my point is, it is easy for someone of reasonable intelligence to disect an article with variable outcomes and put their own spin on it.
