I've been watching VDM for a while but have never stepped in due to their perception within the industry in WA. I work in the engineering / construction industry and remember VDM strongly marketing that they could provide a "one stop shop" where they could provide engineering design through to construction.
Your greatest strength is often your greatest weakness and I believe this is the case for VDM. I know a number of good opportunities have been lost because clients like the construction arm but have issues with the engineering consultants group, and vice versa. There may be a new badge on the product but people have long memories. In the current market those memories can literally make or break a business when clients are now in a position to choose who they use.
