This was covered in recent posts and the outcome was that if you swap on market it is classed as washing and considered as a ploy to avoid tax unless there was an element of time during which the shares were at risk in the market.

If you are not short of funds why not buy an equal parcel and sell any amount later to level off at a chosen number.
