There were reports of confirmed cases/suspected confirmed cases going to shopping centre right after they got tested, or went onto large family gatherings or even going to work. That's just ridiculous and totally irresponsible.

What should be done is track those who are confirmed cases and check on them regularly to make sure they stay at home and in isolation (and their close contacts/family). I thought the whole purpose of COVIDSafe app was to help with that but we haven't heard much how it was used? The best approach IMO (and this is being done in many other countries), is to log the confirm case's phone number and track their GPS. If they leave their home, they'll get a SMS saying this is a warning and do not leave the house or else, police will come.

But knowing how Australians value their 'freedom' and 'privacy' more so than many other countries, I don't think this will be welcomed by the public and will probably face a huge pushback/criticism from the community.

Also, it's time to change the mask guidance. We are one of the few countries in the world now where we still have 'don't wear mask if you are not sick' rule. It's outdated and definitely needs to be changed right now. We still have community transmission from unknown sources. That's enough to warrant a change in guidance and make sure everyone wears mask/fabric clothing on public transport or in public spaces.

Hopefully this can be controlled before it becomes the official 'second wave'.
