not sure of the stated effect here. If Fund managers want exposure to precious metals (safe haven play), isn’t that more likely to push up the price of platinum and hence cost of manufacture of platinum wares. XRF may not be in the position to then pass on all of the extra cost (in a similar vein when cost of Lithium went up a few years back and margins on their Lithium based flux were curtailed).
