You have quickly become one of my favs on here.

However, there are many ways to skin a cat. The rules of engagement for the stock market all depends on personal timeframes.

Your rules work for a day trader....but won't work for short term trader like myself.....and nor will it work for a longer term investor (i.e. just know when to continue to throw your money into a bull market and when to get out before the bear market kills most of your profits.

    Rule 1 for me:
    • first and foremost, technicals.
    • 2nd, fundamentals. For example, if a stock is at all time lows, I want to know why. Is it going bankrupt? Then, technicals mean nothing. It just got me to a point of thinking about it about buying it, but pass thank you.
    • 3rd - sentiment....I really don't care. Sentiment is the condition created by ambulance chases and momentum junkies....and most of the time, they will die in ER. This is the BS that media spins to explain away the world (e.g. The media says Amazon's price is totally....it's taking over the world's retailing....it will forever go up. Me: I can find something better, thanks).

Rule 2: Not for me. Technicals will tell me when to get in and when to get out. For me, it's about timing. Am I playing days, weeks or months.
    • If days/weeks, I will consult both daily and weekly chart on when to buy and when to get out.
    • Longer term holds, weekly and monthly chart.

Rule 3: Totally agree. Been there....and still sometimes fall into something that feels bad. If it causes you stress, shut down, take a breath, go for a swim, drink a couple of cocktails. Promise. Everything will feel better tomorrow.

What a wonderful world we live in. Both you and I can co-exist, do different things but still have similar outcomes.

    Peace.
