Rejigging uni fees

There is obvious merit imo in restucturing uni fees to encourage STEM course take up.
Many career openings will arise in areas for people with this kind of background and it seems we need more of our own to skill up accordingly.
But in trying to rebalance the output I think it would be a mistake to price humanities out of the market in the longer term.

I agree that the "social sciences" have been degraded by pseudo-science and politics and have largely become a cheapened avenue for the degree mass market. But the core of what used to be the humanities - the classics, history, philosophy etc - are as important now as they ever were, but they are largely avoide thed. I heard a few days ago a very spirited cri de coeur from I think an Oxford professor and the case made very well for more studies of the classics as the base for understanding modern history and present day events. Plus ca change.
