Didn't LAC cut back production last year, and as far as I know, they haven't resumed that production yet.

Is it indicative of GFL's desperation to throw that money around, and at a company that has had to cut their production?

And why on earth would this money going to LAC have any reflection at all on AJM? For all we know, it was offered, and rejected? Not enough basis at all to speculate on, imo.

On another note, not sure if anyone here watches Billions (which has some pretty sharp observations about human nature amidst investment and government settings), the latest episode 7 has the sourcing of minerals as one of the main points of conflict. Where Australia and the Congo are specifically mentioned, and the difference on what the impact these geographies have on investors perceptions and the resulting hits to the bottomline.
