    Bain aren't playing creditors anything, they've signed an agreement to buy the assets of VAH via a private company.

    The Administrators Deloitte are the ones who will distribute the cash received from Bain to Creditors.

    The amount Bain has agreed to pay hasn't been disclosed, my 'less than $1bn' 'maybe as much as $1.5bn' was just an estimate the same as your 'less than $6bn'.
