Bain Capital reportedly want a smaller, more streamlined version of Virgin Australia with a focus on servicing more competitive routes which have higher load factors (BNE / SYD / ADL / MEL), so some jobs will certainly be slashed. This will leave QAN more freedom to continue to service larger portions of regional Australia.
It will be interesting to see how long Bain commits for going longer term. Bear in mind that before they even start, they need to commit to getting Virgin out of debt, then commence operations again in this precarious environment. Interesting days ahead. Time will tell.
