    Why would a merchant decide to offer Afterpay unless they believed it provided them with a net benefit (more customers, larger basket values vs Afterpay fee)? If they are in fact net better off by having Afterpay, why would they jeopardise that net benefit by attempting to pass on the fee and in the process annoying a bunch of customers? If a merchant doesn’t see any net benefit from offering Afterpay, they can just get rid of it altogether. I am yet to hear of any significant merchants that have discontinued the Afterpay service which says something, no?
