Yep, China is an interesting place even if I’ve only been to Shenzhen. The people that I interacted with seemed decent and that is all we can ask for on a personal level, some were pushy, some overly helpful but hey don’t we get that everywhere?
That picture of the boy’s in Egypt is iconic. in a way it is as almost as symbolic as Lone Pine in the story of our nation. A few older friends of my late grandfather and father did the take 2 in WW 2. I was lucky enough to listen to a few of the old boys talk about their time in Egypt when I was a nipper, my delicate ears weren’t supposed to understand/remember but I wasn’t sipping outta long necks.
Would you believe that most people around my age of 50 ish don’t know that Japan was on our side in WW 1?
