Can somebody please tell me the timeframe you have to actually purchase the stock once you short it? ie. shorted today, then five days later it must be bought or whatever?
I have never shorted a stock before, and to be honest am not even considering doing it, I'm just curious as to the benefits over say options or CFD's,which obviously also give you the opportunity to make money if the market is going forward or backward.
I have been options trading for the last couple of years (I have a couple of puts on BHP which I bought last Friday which are doing very nicely)
