It does not mean there are no alternative therapy options.

What don't people understand about a double blind trial? No-one knows until it is unblinded, not even the FDA, not even the doctors, NO-ONE.
There is not someone tallying results as they come in then conveying this to some central body - this is not a double blind trial. They will only release the results of the first 90 once the first 90 have completed the trial. Then the results can be tallied. This will not happen overnight.
If half the people have died, how do the doctors know that it is controls and not the MSC patients. They don't. Therefore they cannot 'know' the treatment is working.

FDA are basing judgement on the small test cases with COVID and cases with aGVHD. Things are grim so they are willing to allow use of unapproved treatments under strict control - only when all approved treatments have been used and proved ineffective.
