Hi FF I recall in the last webinar 27McH20, Louis asked Peter for an update on what was happening at our WA Research Centre and of course to tease our taste buds about his plans for the future of Akida. Very pleased to read this again, and be reminded that PVDM is not looking at datacentres server farms or the cloud for Akida 2. He couldn't have been clearer about the direction he wanted to go in with his research and this is what he said....
"Peter: Sure. The western Australia research center, we're looking at the future of artificial intelligence. We're looking at where the market will be in say two years and ten years from now.So, that means that we are looking at building devices that are more like the brain. Chips that can make decisions and that can learn like human beings, as you just saw, we already in the current device, we're already doing that to a large extent. We will expand on what we have at the moment. We built this off Akida one. So in the WA research center we will form advanced research into artificial intelligence. Which goes well beyond recognizing an image or avoiding an obstacle. For instance, when something is encountered that the chip has never seen, and it needs to take the right response. So this is known as AGI, the next generation of AI. AGI stand for artificial general intelligence, which means learning more like a human being.So Akida two will be an advancement of Akida one, more capabilities, each generation of Akida, so Akida three, Akida four etc. will be an advancement of each generation. And each is developed with the vision of where the AI market is going. But we don't develop these things in isolation, we develop this in dialogue with the eventual users.
