One of my other current projects would make 9lives pleased
I'm working on a cyclic political history of the world and
have noticed the following cycle:

Round 1 Round 2 Round 3

Babel Babylon Holy Roman Empire (538-153x)
Elam Medo-Persia Divided Europe (1530x-1798)
Egypt Greece Napoleonic Empire/modern europe
Assyria Imperial Rome Rise of (Roman)Emperors

The correlations are many and quite interesting. I'm less concerned with time than with key social/political paradigms.

Won't go into details - requires a bookload of info to see how it all fits. Right now we are in the same time frame as the transition from Republican Rome to Imperial Rome. Except its not Rome any more but USA. Expect to see some major political changes there.

Probably won't post it to HC when I'm done since its not really an appropriate forum for it, but I could probably email it to interested parties. It will take me some time to finish though.
