Right now AMP is ripe for a possible Joint Venture takeover, where parties interested in a particular business unit come together to takeover and separate as agreed. With so much cash in account the actual Price paid per share will be cheap, even at $2,50 there will be a considerable cash return which acts as a discount to the buyer/s.
A possibility would be for a couple Private equity groups take the deal but have prior agreements to spin of business units and earn a good lick. The likes of Maq bank know that if they commence a takeover the price would sky rocket, so it's best for these type players work back door with private equity groups but offer guarantees.
the time is crucial as the funds need to stay in the bank for the buy price to make the deal juicy.
Under $2.50 this company is a steal with so much cash n hand.
