The point is well made by the pie chart in the video about the relative cost of the cathode/anode when it comes to the overall cost of the battery. Cathode = 54%, anode = 9.4%. It is unfashionable to mention Tesla in conjunction with NVX currently. I do note however that if you apply DPMG to the anode you can save 30% of 9.4% of costs, or 3%. However if you save 30% of cathode cost of 54% you save 16.2%. Tesla is aiming to bring down the cost of the MMB. By applying DPMG to their cathode they can potentially have a single crystal cathode with an overall cost production reduction of 16% which will bring the cost down into the $84 bracket whilst also providing a simpler and more environmentally acceptable product. As previously stated the simpler the process the more likely you are to close in on 100% productivity output. If Tesla were to go with a DPMG cathode that would tick a lot of aspirational boxes.
