Well known a Melbourne restaurateur Paul Dimmatina was on Melbourne radio late this afternoon asking Daniel Andrews to take responsibility for the looming disaster caused by the appalling management of hotel quarantine security staff. Dimmatina spoke of the staff meeting he had just had having to tell staff some of them were without jobs again. Dimmatina said staff were in tears many were worried how they would pay their bills. Dimmatina said he and many business associates were angry that Andrews accused Victorians of complacency, he said the Premier needed to look at his own failures and take responsibility.
The devastation of going into lockdown 2.0 is deflating and what is worse is that we have significant community transmission of the virus whereas in lockdown 2.0 community transmission was almost non existent.
Andrews has done well up until Mother’s Day and the BLM protest. From that point on However he lost the public, unfortunately the BLM was the wrong signal when success was in sight, now it is a fading memory. The security fiasco has topped that off.
All Victorians must now stay at home and socially distance when outside the home otherwise an extended lockdown will consign the state to an economic Ice Age.
