I am just pondering BNPL space is the biggest scam of the century, I used Openpay (OPY) for the first time today for a car service ..downloaded the app and instantly approved $450 limit.. I paid $348.30 for the car service , the OPY payment plan is $72.16 today and 8 x $37.33= $370.80 WTF.. they charge a "plan management fee" $2.50 per payment. This equates to 6.5% fee (interest) for 8 weeks.. (annualised at 41.6% pa)..I agree if payments are missed late payment fees may apply $9.50, but charging a fee to Make a payment on time is simply a rip off and only a matter of time regulators will come down hard on this . I will never use OPY again !
