Dear Tas, thank you for that great post. Wow you must have done some serious research to invest that amount, good on you
I did as much as I was capable of, bearing in mind that this is a venture that I have entered into less than 3 months ago.
Decades ago I did do a bit of dabbling, but mainly through investment trusts, so they were a no brainer really.
I decided to give this a shot as (I hope I do not get accused by others of oversharing) I desperately needed something to occupy my mind after several personal tragedies in the last 9 months.
My mind is not at peace through worrying about people.
Perhaps you would be kind enough to help me a bit here. My dilemma is that although my husband is happy for me to have this new baby.
He often says, you should sell various shares to lock in profits or it means nothing. I get what he means, but I have no energy or wish to become a trader. Yes already I have cut my losses after further research on 3 shares and am ok with this.
So from your point of view does there become a trigger when you think, ok I have done well and should cash some in.
Not specifically MSB but other shares.
All this talk of a cliff edge in September is making me a bit nervous, again not specifically with MSB. But I think I should have a strategy in general.
The stocks which have fared fairly poorly are some of the blue chips, which I bought early on. QAN is one I regret. I am happy with REA and SEK because I have a good understanding of them.
But I have invested in several small cap mining stocks and they on the whole are doing really well.
I have diversified, spent endless hours researching before buying and now understand the daily ups and downs a lot better.
Please do not feel obliged to answer if it makes you uncomfortable, but you sound like a real gent. Thank you
