I personally would like to consult the media to find out the truth, not to have my bias confirmed. But that is almost impossible these days. I do not mind hearing something that challenges my thinking because if I am proved wrong then I have just learned something. I view that as a positive.

Yes I stated the website was left leaning, that is a fact. Are facts critique now?

Yes there are both left and right leading media but basically Fox is the main one for the right. Surely it is always good to see both sides of the coin? If not for Fox, and their alternate view, I shudder to think what the American public would believe by now.

Her letter was not just referring to the NYT but media in general. My response was not limited to this letter either but rather my frustration of a media out of control and peddling dangerous lies and untruths. Facts are now hate speech and hypocrisy and denial is the name of the game.

I have been watching this space long enough to know that conservative voices are in fact being shut down for Bull shirt reasons.

How can there ever be fair debate if one side is not allowed to be heard?

Yes there were Twitter exchanges about that meeting but who says they were the only ones? Maybe some others didn’t fit the agenda. Unless you were at that meeting how would you know what took place?
Its possible that other journalists that may have agreed with her were too afraid to respond due to the very real threat of repercussions including sacking. It happens all the time.

And then you complain about her discussing a confidential meeting but not a word about the multiple confidential leaks that the NYT continuously makes public, often classified material. All anti conservative material. The Russia hoax being one.

I believe the media has lost its way and I felt it refreshing that at least one journalist from the left had seen the light.

I dont post here often but I admit I was taken aback with your first post condemning everything about her and ignoring the essence of her letter. I will finish with one paragraph from it.

As places like The Times and other once-great journalistic institutions betray their standards and lose sight of their principles, Americans still hunger for news that is accurate, opinions that are vital, and debate that is sincere. I hear from these people every day. “An independent press is not a liberal ideal or a progressive ideal or a democratic ideal. It’s an American ideal,” you said a few years ago. I couldn’t agree more. America is a great country that deserves a great newspaper.”
