however i do think that all nations have a tendency to do that if they think they can. history is littered with the folly of war. seems to be china's turn and I don't think it will be much better than all the others that have preceded them. maybe worse because they are inherently monoculture. the disadvantage of a collectivist perspective is that it risks monoculturalism. compliance is also more important when you have huge populations.
