No, I think Telecom NZ's chance for Amcom has been and gone. If they really wanted it they would have at least taken the remaining Futuris stake. Private placements are usually reserved for when no one else in the industry is interested. And anyway, from what I have read Telecom NZ's funds, like most, are already strecthed and committed elsewhere. To take over the whole of Amcom now from a 0% starting point would require to great a takeover premium.
Looks like it will just be steady as she goes for Amcom from here on in. It would have been nice to get a People Telecom size takeover spike on the SP, but I'm confident Amcom will continue to perform well under the current board.
