The real question is what happens to Shenghe Resources stake. does it diluted sown to where it is less than 5%? Do they buy more shares increasing their ownership. Or do they get bought out. if stake reduces or goes away this puts MP at the front of line for US GOV funds.
Would really like you to show some back up. Do to the abundant NG available to them they generated all their electric with NG turbines. Now plant never achieved even 25% operation because of a Filter contamination problem. But they were making good progress in fixing it when shut down. Like NC Smith went on a spending spree wen REO was easy money from investors and put the company badly in Debt NC had JARE Smith had Oak Tree who was fed up and forced bankruptcy. When filters were fixed they would have been first company to recycle 100% of their waste water. I should remind you that MCP was profitable for several years 10 years ago before Lynas even had production running. And that was using their clean pilot plant for the new plant design. The abundance of cheep NG does lower there operating cost substantially. Not only can they recycle their water but they can reclaim many of the solvents (mainly acids) Lowering COP. any body can do this all you need is very low cost electric. And filters that dont clog up when you are sending water to be recycled.

This is a lot better than holding pounds and discharge.

MP Materials also plans to re-open the Mountain Pass chlor-alkali facility, which was built by Molycorp, Litinsky said.

The facility will recycle wastewater and produce hydrochloric acid and caustic soda to use in the rare earths separation process, saving the facility the added cost of buying the chemicals on the open market.

To say NdPr is not important only heavies is foolish. 10 years ago when CFLs needed lots of heavies they were much more important. CFLs are gone DY and Tb are still needed MP can survive without these Lynas and China have plenty for world demand.

Will they be competitive with Lynas? I have no idea. I do know they at one time supplied 90 % of Worlds REO but that does not count at all to day just like the problems you pointed out that existed 15~ 50 years ago are no longer important. Will I buy at IPO I doubt it but I will watch it carefully and compare with Lynas. JMO from reading this article the IPO will be over valued, it will be months before we know what they are actually expecting to raise and what the plans for the money is. I bought MCP At IPO and several times afterwards and in terms of annualized gain when I sold out just under USD 70 it was one of my top 10 investments ever.
Well you should have learned something from this. Someone is complaining about your post unless there is a complaint they do not look at them.
Next I was getting deleted a lot I have learned to use Lynas early and a few times in post. IE if you opened with a statement like 'may be serious competition for Lynas' Or 'this would be very good for Lynas and REO industry'. Probably no problem. I never saw the post so I do not know what you said.
This is interesting I actually agree with you. But when I said that Lynas was critical for Chinna you disagreed and said china was out to Kill Lynas. What is the difference?
