I find myself in a slightly difficult position in that most of my shares are on a CFD basis, some in a standard share holding and some in a SIPP
My aim is to top up at every opportunity but knowing how much to in CFD v shares is tricky. The benefit of CFD is the ability to take advantage of increasing value and buy more shares. That’s great on the way up but the SP is volatile and the Chartists cover this very well ( a bit beyond me though). I frequently wake up to seeing my free funds being eroded!
If the share price dropped to 0 it would hurt massive, likewise selling too early. I certainly aim to keep some shares Forever and maybe put them into my Will
It has to be an individual choice but as said previously ( by Mozz I believe) you want to hold enough do that if it delivers it changes your life and if it doesn’t you are not “ruined”.
