I said a while ago that the bonus money would be spent in precisely this way. Another place that is busier this week with 'elderly' Australians is the travel agency, where they are buying cruise ship tickets for boats owned by P&O and Carnival!
Pensioners played a 'con' game as the majority are sufficiently supported without this extra largesse. Young families are more needy.
