Don't disagree with your thoughts on the lump-sum (remember me, I gave it to you B/4 Christmas) versus fortnightly increase.
However, the bit about being on the pension because not being able to manage money, is a bit hard on the generations of "limited education, get married, have children mothers" that were dependent on their husbands money management skills. Also women live 4 or 5 years longer than men so they make up a much larger proportion of aged pensioners.
