No attempt to “scold” you on that, just commenting.

Btw that’s a bit harsh coming from someone who refuses to abide by the HC TOU regarding their holding disclosure because he interprets disclosing “having an interest in a security” as meaning being “interested” in a stock and therefore implicit in merely participating in the forum, rather than meaning that you must disclose your current holding status when posting!!!
I’ll “scold” you for that, for sure!

Anyway, sorry if I interpreted this as somewhat “knocking the LT strategy”:

I don't want to p off LTers but these type of stocks are good for trading, not so much as LT hold. Too much unknowns, volatility and depending on forces outside company control for LT hold.”

If you weren’t “knocking” it, why the recognition that it might p off LTers?! Pretty clear to me.

    Btw, “Years of rollercoaster”?
Yeah, this is mining and that’s what it takes to get multiple operations up and running - years and years and years. And more years.
My point was that the unknowns and volatility are all part of it, but they are ultimately overwhelmed in this case, imo, by a solid long term strategy of developing multiple quality assets over years in a solid evolving LT market. A market that is set to grow absolutely massively in the years ahead.
What’s wrong with buying as one operation is shaping up, with intention to accumulate and hold for a time (a relatively long way down the track) when multiple operations are online? In this unique sector (with its widely-accepted disruptive growth trajectory) there is nothing wrong with that imo.
We’ve been over the history many times. I also bought in originally over 10 years ago. The company was way ahead of its time with plans and progress for vertical integration to initially produce batteries for e-bikes and e-scooters. More stars needed to align for the world to catch up, but the foresight was always generally sound, as evidenced more recently by the actual unfolding of a global transition to electrified mobility. A bit early. No big deal. There was plenty of time a handful of years ago to get in cheaper in higher-risk times. I have plenty of LT parcels that are very green, even now around these multi-year lows, for example.
Historical sp/returns don’t count for too much here anymore btw, considering that this is effectively a “new” industry; Li battery production set to grow circa 20x or 30x over a decade or so...??? That is insane.
Doesn’t mean it’s a one-way ticket to riches, but those aware of the timeframes involved with growing such a mining business shouldn’t be extremely bothered or shocked by waves along the way.

If you can trade it, great.

Imo there is now real opportunity for a LT hold to return, on average, at least the current share price, per year over the next handful of years. +$5? Why not? That’s just my view and everyone should DTOR and not rely on that in any way btw!
Time will tell and we’ll see.
You and asb can compare the results of the pip flipping strategy in 5/6/7 years time, now that there is actual movement at the EV station. Let’s see what the price and LT return is from these levels when SDV and JB are at full tilt.

All good, I suspect the mood here will shift soon as the sp spends a couple of years heading generally north instead of south!

    Happy trading!
