As an ex-serviceman ...I am appalled.

But like most things...aside from the deaths and the truely sadistic acts, the remainder of what they are likely to have gone through are probably no more or no less than most other POW's have endured through the ages.

As some of you know, my father was a POW of the lovely Nippon and it sure was bacon & eggs and silk sheets...............

But this time the US is at the center of the debate so of course the furore will be intense.

And maybe it should be...........we have set ourselves to be some sort of standard for human rights (regardless what the rabble would have you believe) so maybe we do need to suck it up and see how this plays out.

Hopefully (but alas seemingly unavoidablely) this wont hijack the thing that is going on over there with regards the objectives.....

..........but it might.
