Surely everyone by now realises Benacke, Paulson and the rest of the nay sayers in the Senate are short the dow - so of course they say no first up - just like they did with the TARP -

Just being normal yanks - looking after themselves and seeing who's dodle is biggest

After voting it down they then close thier shorts and vote yes

Setting aside the free market ethos and letting bad companies die etc - if they let the car makers fall there will be a gazillion yanks out of jobs - a humane argument alone would not let a person with a heart let that happen if avoidable - and the pollies wont want to see a gazillion of thier constituents on the unemployment list

They will pass something that holds that off - prolly wont fix it but will hold it off.
