Thanks for that Dub. As usual, Paul is a paragon of common sense. My only comfort in all of this is that there were at least some of us who were posting here before the invasion, that the espoused dream of introducing democracy to the ME by invasion was the grossest of fantasies that was doomed to failure. That is now clear even to Blind Freddy and those rabid idealogues who pollute this site, though, of course. thye will never admit it. The cost of all of this is well discussed in Paul's letter..... but he hasn't mentioned the cost to Australia of Howard's blind adherence to the Bush doctrine. We are all diminished by this association with US foreign policy and history will damn Howard for the lies, prevarications and toadying...
