I think this misses the point. A capital raising costs money to the company and exposes it to risks of shortfall and dilution. If you can raise more from a smaller pool then you mitigate risk and cost which is a positive for all share holders.
An increase like that isn’t just to please certain investors it’s a smart move for capital management by a board who clearly are aware that these are odd times and here is a great opportunity to get cash in the bank for very little expense. I’m hoping that my full allocation is available and I can assure you that’s not to just dump on the first day that they list.

The bit that I didn’t like was that it went through such a small broker that I hardly ever deal with so I had no idea if I’d have my bid accepted or filled. When Macquarie put out that research note with no recommendation, I thought that they were about to launch this raise and Mac Bank is who I deal with the most so that would have been a personal positive!

think about the other side, if EMV went to a SPP and missed their target. Turning around to bigger investors and asking for money would have then resulted in a much deeper discount as well as wearing the costs of a failed and dilutive offer.

if no other shares are made available and EMV is firmly on track with ALL of the money they need to commercialise their products and THEN they get the funding grant... where do you think the share price will go?? Big picture, we all win. So many risks are leaving the equation.

This is a good thing that’s happening.
