This RBA paper has been around. Changes were mooted earlier in the year and pushed back due to COVID.
It is and was going to apply to the whole BNPL sector. So i think its good for it to be raised not only in the Z1P forum but APT one.
Bedger is has raised a valid point and something to consider where i differ from him is that I do not see merchants applying the surcharge. If they do APT can remove them from the APT ecosystem. The benefits and increased sales from APT and other BNPL outweighs the costs. Do retails forgo the additional revenue and marginal increase in profits because of the margin APT charges? I think no. It's simply economics if for each additional product you sell, you still can generate profit, why wouldn't you? It saves them from running discount and sales campaigns which they would give up more margin anyway.
