I would think that the Iraq expenditure now costs a lot more per week than even 3 months ago: Many vehicles get burnt up and need replacing. More personnel is needed because of fighting by militants.

There are more wounded and dead soldiers.
More ships are needed to patrol the sea lanes. The situation in Afghanistan is only barely tolerable but better than in Iraq.
